The Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, a public foundation subject to German civil law and approved by the District Government of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, in 1977, is an independent, not-for-profit institution dedicated to the promotion of the medical, biological, chemical, and pharmaceutical sciences. The Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation is registered in Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany, and is listed in the foundation register of the Rhinelande-Palatinate (http://addinter.service24.rlp.de/cgi-bin-inter/stiftung1.mbr/start). The responsible supervisory authority is the Supervisory and Service Directorate of Rhineland-Palatinate in Trier.
